Rebecca is a current PhD candidate and being a member of the Centre for Fragment-Based Design (CFBD) means the opportunity to participate in masterclasses and “learn from the best”.
Her current research is looking at complementary techniques to traditional structure-based drug design using Escherichia coli DsbA. This involves screening and parallel synthesis of covalent libraries, high concentration x-ray crystallography and NMR screening.
“After I finish my PhD I would like to stay in the field of fragments, in either academic or industry, and develop efficient and widely applicable techniques,” says Rebecca.
Rebecca undertook a Bachelor of Pharmaceutical Science Advanced with Honours (Medicinal Chemistry) and is now completing her PhD within the CFBD based at the Monash Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences (MIPS), Monash University.
